Music Song List Education About Contact

Dizzy with Dame is
slang from the 1930's meaning very much
in love with a woman, sometimes at great risk to themselves, especially if she's someone else's moll (a gangster's girlfriend).

We perform with a rotating roster of professional jazz musicians.

The brainchild of Dizzy with a Dame is Alison Dunn. Music was introduced into Alison's life as a child through her grandmother with whom she watched 1930's musicals, stamping a love for early jazz on her life.

Alison's comes from an eclectic performance background. She has
worked professionally as performer for all of her adult life with concert dance companies, musical theatre productions as a triple threat, a children's entertainer and as a choreographer in New York City, Los Angeles and San Diego. She has been a performing arts teaching artist for the last 12 years to folks of all ages.

With a lifelong yearning of jazz performance burning in her gut, she formed Dizzy with a Dame. Currently she has thrown herself into songwriting,  developing her ukulele chops and her interpretation of the early jazz song.
